Housing figures were not refreshed in this evening update; use the latest dated county housing snapshot on the Money page.

Freddie Mac national weekly average released September 24: 30-year fixed 7.03%; 15-year fixed 6.42%.

August 2026 U.S. CPI: headline +3.4% year over year; core +2.4%.

Money takeaway

A Cincinnati-area regular-gas average near $4.36 and a 7.03% national 30-year mortgage rate keep transportation and borrowing costs at the center of household planning.
