THE BUTLER BRIEF

Saturday, October 31, 2026 · Evening Edition · Verified 4:02 PM ET

Today recap

Good evening, Butler County. The National Weather Service forecast issued Saturday morning called for mostly cloudy skies and a high near 68 in West Chester Township, with an east wind from 7 to 10 miles per hour. A current late-afternoon airport observation was not independently available in this preparation, so this recap does not claim an observed temperature or final daytime high.

Tonight and Sunday

Tonight is forecast cloudy with a low around 53 and an east wind from 3 to 6 miles per hour. Sunday should be partly sunny with a high near 70. The National Weather Service lists a 20 percent chance of showers after 3 p.m. Sunday, with a slight chance continuing into Sunday night.

Roads and transit

The Butler County Engineer’s Office continues to list Yankee Road closed just north of Hornet Drive for the Monroe High School driveway project, with the through-traffic detour using Todhunter Road, Salzman Road and State Route 63. Reopening is expected November 20, weather permitting. The Engineer’s Office also says Liberty Fairfield Road reopened October 28 after the water-main break. Butler County RTA continues the R1 northbound early-voting detour through November 1, the R6 Hanover Street construction detour through the end of November, and the temporary Third Street CincyLink stop while the Riverfront Transit Center is closed. Oxford SafeRide says its November 1 service ends at 2 a.m.

Coverage note

This Evening Brief is limited to freshly checked official weather, county road and transit information. Events, live traffic incidents, sports results, fuel prices, markets and school closings were not independently reverified for this narration, so no current claims are being made in those categories. Sports and event processing remain separate guarded steps in the same publisher cycle.
